A. Product validity has become big issue when photographers photoshop photos. Photo manipulation is mainly used to increase sales. When people use photoshop they "wreak havoc" on hardworking journalists.
B. They give all of their photographers specific guidelines that they have to follow.
C. I think that you could use very little manipulation if your going to use it.
D. I think that this is the worst picture manipulated because the photographer made such a big change. The photographer also changed the position and altered with it too much.
E. In my opinion this photo is least unethical. I think this because it shows the least amount of change and is still the same picture. For example, the picture above has a lot of things changed. On the other hand, the one down here has only the color changed.

Academic Shoot reflection and critique
1. Some challenges i encountered when i went out to shoot was the amount of space i had. I feel like if an academic event was going on i could have got some really good shots.
2. I wanted to get some horizontal photos because i wanted to mix it up but unfortunately i couldn't get any.
3. I would have went into more classes and got some good horizontal photos. Also i wanted to use at least 3 rules in one photo.
4. I would keep the multiple rules in each picture the same.
5. I think the rule of lines would be the easiest to accomplish.
6. I think the avoiding mergers would be pretty difficult especially if you in a small compact space like in a classroom or small hallway.
7. I'm still a little confused on the rule of balance. I could just reread the slides on balance if i want to 100% understand it.

Academic photoshopped photos
This picture uses uses the rule of lines because of the lines in the background. The subjects in this picture in this picture are the trophies. It is clear what the subjects are in this photo because of the shininess in the trophies. If the subjects in this photo weren't clear then i would have taken this photo in a less complicated/distracting background.
This picture uses the rule of balance and simplicity. The subject in this photo is the kid and his private instruction teacher. It is pretty clear what the subject in this photo is in this picture because the subject stands out. If the subject wasn't clear in this photo then i would have taken out the mergers surrounding the photo creating a border.
This picture uses the rule of thirds and lines. The subject in this photo is the kids in the left corner. It is really clear that the subject in this photo are the kids because the floor is really plain and simple. If the subject isn't clear then you would probably want a less complicated background.

1. I chose this photo because it has good simplicity, and excellent framing with the book shelves around the photo.
2. Some of the rules of photography in this photo that a i can see are simplicity, framing, rule of thirds, and lines.
1. I could go to the library for some photos like the ones i saw today.
2. I would like to go to the library for some cool photographs.
3. In order to take some good photos like the ones i saw today i would have to learn more about the camera.

Filling the Frame
This frame is filled with all of the mechanical/vents. We can easily see the subject and what the photographer was trying to capture in this photo.
Action and Emotion
I chose this photo because it shows a lot of emotion because of her facial expressions. Also the action that she is doing with her hands. it looks like these students are in some kind of theatre arts class.

Post Shoot Reflection
1. I faced the challenge of having limited work/shoot room and didn't see too many ideas. The only one i felt comfortable about was the Bowie one.
2. The part that i felt the least comfortable about was probably the camera aspect; like the part where you have to focus 1 subject and leave the background out of focus.
3. If i could do this assignment again then i would try and get some pictures that show framing. I would put the school building in the middle with some trees covering the border.
4. I would keep my pictures that have a lot of detail, and imagery.
5.
6. I don't mind shooting with those prompts again because their were some places i didn't get to go to.
Avoiding Mergers
I chose this picture because it has one base and a pretty simple background. It shows these two people covered in dust and smoke, and it didn't merge.
Framing
I used this picture because you can see the buildings acting like a border or a frame for the explosion and smoke. This picture shows a perfect example of framing.

Balance
I used this picture because it shows perfect balance with the buildings, and the airplane is just timed perfectly with the smoke. This picture also shows perfect straitness meaning it isn't lopsided.
Lines
I used this photo because you can see the American flag without any busy background and complicated objects. This picture is just plain and simple.
Rule of Thirds
I chose this picture because you can use the rule of thirds and put this person in the center right row. You can see this persons whole body and where he is headed.
Simplicity
I chose this picture because it has 1 subject and you know what is the center of the picture. You can see what the picture is and it isn't out of focus.
The Camera
1. The camera obscura effect is when light is coming in to a dark room through a hole. To achieve this you need a dark room and a small hole with light going through, and the hole acts like lens.
2. People came closer to a modern camera when Sir Issac Newton perfected the study of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.
3. The parts of the first modern camera were a glass lens, a dark box, and finally a film.
4. What has stayed the same is that light passes into the camera and creates the film.
5. Digital cameras use something called a CCD and this can also be used for memory.
6. In auto mode the camera will flash by itself along with other things but with program mode you can control what your settings are.
7. The program mode focuses on one object and blurs out the background and is usually used for portraits.
8. The sports mode will freeze motion and use the highest speed possible.
9. The photographer must set the shutter and aperture modes.
10. If you half press the camera the camera will focus in.
11. This symbol means that the flash has been turned off. You will use this when you want a picture to have some natural light.
12. This is auto flash and you will need to use this when the picture needs more light.
13. Too much light in the picture is a result in the picture being washed out.
14. Too little light is a result in the picture being too dark.
15. stop is a relative measurement of light.
16. If we had two suns the planet would be 2x brighter.
17. The planet would also be 2x brighter if we had 4 suns instead of 2.
18. Longer shutter means more light.
19. Shorter shutter means less light.
20.The aperture controls the light.
21. You can control the light using the F stop.

Prompt Photos
METAL
In this picture i used the rule of thirds technique with the trailer in the bottom left.
HAPPY
In this picture i also used the rule of thirds technique with the bee in the top lefthand corner.
SQUARE
in this picture i didn't use any of the composition techniques.
BOWIE
In this picture i used a good frame for the building. The trees surround the building giving the picture life.
