Merger photo preview

1. A problem that could occur while taking these photos could be spacing yourself evenly.  In order to make it more eye appealing and better.
2. a nice spot to take one of these shots would be the baseball fields with the batting cages in the background.
3. Something creative that you could do in this shoot would be to pose or do something with your bod to make it eye appealing.
4. You could wear something that goes with the background or something with different letters in each pic (to spell something out)

Portfolio Analysis

VIDEO 1

1.  The name of this photographer is Alyssa Schukar
2. The general focus of this portfolio was the effects that some sports take on your body. This portfolio had some pics of people throwing up and some pics of people at the grocery store.
3. The three negative problems were:
 a. Not getting up close and personal with ALL pictures
 b. Dark take- not optimism
 c. Weak singles
4. two things the judges liked were:
 a. Some of the celebrated baseball pics
 b. Some nice detail in the pictures
5. my impression on the photographer is that she likes the really dark images and i don't like too much of it but i think she is okay.

VIDEO 2

c Some repetition in the beginning
4.  a strong opening into the portfolio
     b. the nicest sport pics in the beginning
5. I really liked this photographers sport pictures, they showed a lot of emotion and detail.

THE WINNING PORTFOLIO
1. The judges noticed that the photographer was really creative when he was shooting these pictures.
2. The strengths that i noticed was the detail and as well as the creativity of the pictures. The only "weakness" that i would've put was the confusion of the swimming pool picture

RECAP VIDEO
They go through all of the portfolios and spot the strengths and weaknesses.

PART 2
1. One photo that i agree on that the judges liked was the rugby one from the first video. i liked it because it showed a lot of action (which was the prompt). The best part from that picture was the finger-in-the-eye part.

2. One photo that i disagree on is the photo that came in third in the second video. The background of this one (the soccer pic) is just bad. It has a car in the back and i think the 4th picture is a little better than this one.

Final Exam planning

1.  I plan to shoot one of my brother's baseball games. I will make a video of my brothers whole game and i plan to narrate when my brother is up to bat.

2.  I will shoot at the baseball fields that he plays at.

3. i will be documenting the game and more specifically  when my brother is up to bat.
4. For the equipment part i will use my phone for the time lapse then transfer it from my phone onto the computer.
5.  i could use my phone to time lapse the whole game start to finish, then i could also take picture of when the game is over and the teams are high-fiving.  I will narrate when my brother is batting.

- plan the whole game/video part out
- use a real camera

my opinions story

Some of AISD’s  rules/policies are kind of unnecessary but this one by far is the most unnecessary of them all. The rules that I’m referring to is the phone jail or phone In bin rule. I know that some teacher s  don’t do this (thankfully) but the teachers that do this don’t know how important phones are.

In my opinion,  phones are the most important idea I keep on me at all times. So to take someone’s phone away for the whole class period is just unnecessary.

You need your phone for so many things and I would need it on me, especially at school.  In case of emergency i need my phone either in my pocket or in my backpack. Just imagine if something bad happens and I don’t have my phone on me. For example, if the school becomes under lock-down and I don’t have time to get my phone in the “phone jail”  then the situation is going to go on longer than it’s suppose to.

You will need your phone for important  phone calls, some online assignments and even for some music concentration.  If you don’t have your phone for easy access in this moment then you’re screwed.  I don’t think that some of the teacher understand how Vidal your phone is in your everyday life; especially in todays society.

You will also need your phones for it’s resources and capabilities that it has already set on the phone. What I mean by this Is you can use the calculator or flashlight or something. Usually when you have to do work in your math or science class it would be helpful to have a calculator on your side. Especially if you need it for some science work just because they don’t always carry calculators in their classrooms.

Teachers/AISD staff say that we could get off task and pull out our phones during class. They mention that students are tempted to take out their phones and get on social media, which is true.  I understand that it is really tempting to get out your phone and stop doing some boring work, but it’s a fire hazard.  We all need our phones just in case of worst case scenario.

A solution to this problem is quite simple and easy. Just do the same thing that every other teacher does, let us keep them. We as 9th grade freshman know our boundaries of pass and failure. We know that if we stay on our phones all class we’ll fail, and it’ll be our fault.

In conclusion, having our phones on us is detrimental in order for us to survive, especially in todays society. Please don’t make us put our phones in bin/jails it’s outdated and inhumane.

Perosnal Essays

1. Make the readers connect to the story directly. You need to make the readers go " Ah yes!" or "I've never done that but i can relate to the author directly!" whenever you can make the reader connect thats when you know that you've written a good opinion piece. Or another good way to tell that you've written a good opinion story piece is when you sway the readers opinion. You could make them change their mind about the topic and make them argue your point.

2. Make sure that the reader can connect to the story because it emphasizes the effect it has on  people.

3. a a question
    b a quotation
    c a metaphor
These are some good examples of what you need to have in order to have a good story.
